Chinese Academy of Sciences Develops Technology to Convert Hydrogen Sulfide into Green Hydrogen and Sulfur
HYDROGENNATURAL GAS
The Chinese Academy of Sciences has developed a technology that converts hydrogen sulfide (H2S) into high-purity hydrogen and sulfur, effectively addressing environmental concerns linked to H2S emissions. The Beijing demonstration project, capable of processing 100,000 cubic meters of H2S annually with over 99.999% conversion efficiency, could potentially recover 730,000 tonnes of low-carbon hydrogen from the 8 billion cubic meters processed in China each year, supporting the country's goal of producing 1.8 million tons of green hydrogen by 2030.
