Chinese Tianmushan-1 Drone Sets Guinness Record for Longest Hydrogen-Powered Flight at 188.605 km
The Tianmushan-1 drone from Beihang University set a Guinness World Record for the longest distance flight of a hydrogen-powered drone, covering 188.605 km in over four hours on November 16 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. The flight data met Guinness standards and was verified in real time.
The Tianmushan-1, which features a 1,600 mm wheelbase and weighs 19 kg, can carry up to 6 kg and has an endurance of 240 minutes. It is designed for BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) operations and is utilized for ecological patrols, pipeline surveys, new-energy plant management, island resupply, urban traffic management, and emergency response. This achievement highlights the commercial potential of hydrogen-powered drones.
