Climeworks has signed a multi-year offtake agreement with Ghana's Truecoco for 90,000 carbon removal credits certified by Puro.earth, extending to 2032. Truecoco will utilize coconut husk waste for biochar production, enhancing soil health and climate resilience in the region.

The project has created over 35 direct and 100 indirect jobs and trained 180 smallholder farmers. Truecoco is the first biochar project in West Africa to receive Puro.earth certification, collaborating with CSIR on crop studies.
