Cochin International Airport to Launch Hydrogen-Powered Buses in India’s First Initiative
HYDROGENFUEL CELL
Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) will be the first airport in India to operate hydrogen-powered buses, following a Memorandum of Agreement with the Kerala Hydrogen Valley Innovation Cluster (HVIC) Foundation. The initiative, part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, includes the procurement of three hydrogen fuel cell electric buses, funded by the K-HVIC Foundation, and aims to enhance passenger convenience while reducing emissions. A green hydrogen plant by CIAL and BPCL will supply the necessary fuel for the buses.
