Comsys AB has successfully installed a containerized second-life battery system in Borås, Sweden, utilizing its control technology. The system, delivered by Rebaba and integrated by El och Marinteknik, repurposes electric vehicle batteries to create grid-connected energy assets, enhancing sustainability.

By extending the lifetime of existing batteries, the project minimizes waste and promotes circular material use. The integrated Comsys software and hardware enable the system to stabilize and respond in real time, maintaining the 50 Hz frequency balance essential for the Nordic power grid's reliable operation. This project exemplifies a scalable battery energy storage solution using second-life car batteries without original manufacturer involvement.
