Construction of Biogas Unit 'Terre & Gaz' by Farmers in Seine-et-Marne with Cultures Intermédiaires

BIOFUELS

Five farms, including those of Frédéric Brunot, are developing the biogas unit 'Terre & Gaz' in Nangis, Seine-et-Marne. Biomethane injection began at 175 Nm3/h in July 2022, increasing to 200 Nm3/h by October 2024.

In 2024, nearly 15,000 tons of inputs were used, with two-thirds from energy crops (Cive) cultivated on 350 hectares annually. This includes 7,000 tons of winter Cive (barley and spelt), 3,100 tons of summer Cive (maize), and other materials.

The farmers aim for autonomy and have adjusted crop rotations based on weather conditions and biogas needs. They prioritize winter Cive to secure input stocks and manage the feeding process to the biogas unit efficiently. The goal is to maintain a one-year stock of inputs to mitigate risks from adverse weather conditions.
