Côte d'Ivoire has established the Ivoiro-Chinese Exploration Company (ICEX) in partnership with China National Geological & Mining Corporation. The joint venture, with 56.65% ownership by SODEMI and 43.35% by CGM, aims to focus on mineral exploration, particularly bauxite.

ICEX's initial capital is CFA20 million, and it has launched its first exploration project in a region with significant bauxite potential. The agreement includes future phases like feasibility studies and mine construction.
