Construction is underway on a 50 MW battery park in Cotorro, Havana, aimed at improving the efficiency of local photovoltaic parks. The facility will store energy and regulate delivery frequency to the National Electric System.

It requires 100 MW of battery regulation for every 1,000 MW from photovoltaic sources. The project involves civil engineering, cabling, and battery installation, with contributions from Geysel, ATI, and technical support from China. Completion is expected in the first half of 2026.
