Danish Crown and AgroGas have achieved VERRA approval for their methane reduction technology, which captures and destroys methane from manure tanks on pig farms, significantly reducing the climate impact of livestock production. This approval enables the sale of carbon credits, providing Danish farmers with economic incentives to lower emissions, with the potential to decrease livestock production's climate footprint by up to 20%. The first five installations are already operational, aligning with future climate accounting measures as CO₂ taxes are set to take effect in 2030.
