A utility-scale battery energy storage project in Matagorda County has received new financing, advancing its construction timeline. DESRI announced on February 18 that it signed a preferred equity investment in Linea Energy's Duffy BESS project, which has a capacity of 235 megawatts and a duration of two hours.

Financial details remain undisclosed. Linea previously secured project debt financing and issued a notice to proceed in December 2025.
