Devon CPRE Objects to Battery Energy Storage System Proposal in Alverdiscott
ENERGY STORAGE
Devon CPRE has formally objected to a planning application for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Alverdiscott, citing concerns over its impact on the local landscape and compliance with planning policies. The proposed facility, which would include at least 50 industrial containers and have a capacity of up to 99.4MW, is not expected to connect to the grid for at least a decade. Local residents, organized as the Bulworthy Solar Action Group, share similar concerns, particularly regarding safety risks associated with the proximity of residential properties.
