Grenoble-based startup DIAMFAB has inaugurated a 750 m² industrial base for diamond semiconductor wafer production, marking Europe's first facility of its kind. Funded by €4 million, the site aims to establish a European supply chain for this advanced material, enhancing capabilities in power electronics and quantum technologies.

The facility, developed over four years, plans to produce tens of thousands of wafers by 2028. DIAMFAB has also raised €8.7 million in total funding, partnering with major industry players to strengthen the European semiconductor landscape.
