The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has allocated P75 million for the development of facilities at a relocation site for informal settler families displaced by the LRT-1 expansion in Cavite. The funding will support the construction of essential amenities, including a public park, school, and water utility, in Kalinga Village, which is currently 81% occupied. The LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project aims to reduce travel time between Pasay and Bacoor to 25 minutes and increase daily ridership to 800,000.
