Dow Inc. Delays Alberta Blue Hydrogen Project by Up to Two Years Amid Market Weakness
HYDROGENCARBON CAPTURE
Dow Inc. has announced a delay of its flagship Path2Zero blue hydrogen-based chemicals complex in Alberta, Canada, due to unfavorable market conditions. CEO Jim Fitterling confirmed the postponement could extend from one to two years, impacting the expansion of ethylene and polyethylene capacity and the project's carbon reduction goals.
The delay allows Dow to optimize engineering work and equipment orders while deferring major construction. This development also affects Linde, which is investing heavily in a supporting hydrogen facility.
