The redevelopment of the former DB wagon factory site in Duisburg's Wedau-Nord area has received three stars in the funding procedure, enabling site remediation funding from North Rhine-Westphalia. Nerra GmbH estimates the costs at over 50 million euros and plans to apply for 48 million euros in funding for the project, which includes demolishing existing structures and developing a hydrogen innovation center. Additionally, the University of Duisburg-Essen's supercomputer, AmplitUDE, is now housed in a new data center that supports local heating needs.
