Duke Energy and Partners Advance Battery Storage Projects in the US

Duke Energy is set to enhance battery storage capacity in the Carolinas with a goal of adding 6,550MW by 2035, supported by federal tax incentives. Key projects include a 115MW/460MWh battery storage system at Riverbend starting construction in late 2026, and Fluence's 300MW/1,200MWh system for the Pioneer Clean Energy Centre in Arizona, expected to begin operations in April 2027. Additionally, Elevate Renewables is developing a 150MW/600MWh project in Virginia, slated for mid-2026, along with other initiatives in New York and Connecticut.
