The SLDBatt project in the Netherlands is focused on developing long-duration energy storage solutions that can store renewable energy for 8 to 100 hours, aiming to reduce costs to below €50/kWh. With over €30 million in funding, the initiative involves collaboration among Dutch start-ups, industrial partners, and academic institutions to advance battery technologies and address grid congestion issues. Coordinated by Battery Competence Cluster NL, it represents the country's largest R&D effort in battery technology.
