East Williamson County Higher Education Center Expansion Milestone Celebrated with New Manufacturing Technology Center

On February 17, officials marked the topping out of a 70,000-square-foot expansion at the East Williamson County Higher Education Center. The facility will serve Texas State Technical College in Hutto, focusing on semiconductor, industrial systems, and precision machining training programs. The $47 million project is set to open in spring 2027 and received a $3.5 million grant from the Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund to support the Accelerated Semiconductor Technician Training program.
