Eco Sustainable Solutions is opening a £16m food waste processing facility in West Parley to handle an additional 70,000 tonnes annually. This new plant will complement the existing site in Piddlehinton, which currently processes 80-100 tonnes per day.

The expansion is in response to rising demand from councils facing a government mandate for kerbside food-waste collections by March. The new facility will produce biomethane for the gas network, while the existing plant generates electricity for 4,000 homes annually.
