Egypt and Romania are working to enhance their economic partnership, aiming to increase bilateral trade to $2 billion by the end of 2025, up from a projected $1.5 billion. Discussions led by the Egyptian Businessmen's Association (EBA) and Romanian Ambassador Olivia Toderean highlighted the 120-year diplomatic relations.

Currently, Egyptian exports are approximately $500 million, primarily in textiles, petroleum products, and agricultural goods. Key growth sectors identified include green hydrogen, energy, tourism, and technology, with existing Romanian gas companies in Egypt.

The Joint Business Council is facilitating improved connectivity, including a proposed direct flight between Hurghada and Bucharest. Romania seeks greater Egyptian investment in food industries, real estate, and education. Both nations emphasized the importance of collaboration to navigate the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and achieve their trade goals.
