Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, announced a significant ocean bottom node seismic survey project in the Eastern Mediterranean, covering 95,000 square kilometers. This initiative aims to maximize gas potential, attract international investment, and support domestic production.

The project, awarded to a consortium led by Schlumberger and Veridien, will be conducted in three phases over seven years, with the first phase beginning in 2026. The announcement coincided with the Gastech conference in Milan, which gathers global leaders in the energy sector.
