Element3 has launched lithium carbonate production from Permian Basin produced water at a facility in Midland, Texas, marking the first new lithium mining project in the U.S. in over 50 years. The facility's capacity is 3,000 tons per annum, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Texas officials, including Governor Greg Abbott.
