Encyclis Receives Approval for Carbon Capture Plant at Rookery South in Bedfordshire
CARBON CAPTURE
Encyclis has secured planning approval to build a full-scale carbon capture plant at its Rookery South Energy Recovery Facility in Bedfordshire, marking a significant step in decarbonising the UK waste sector. This facility will capture carbon dioxide from flue gases and is designed to process up to 657,000 tonnes of waste annually, generating approximately 60 megawatt hours of electricity for the National Grid. Rookery South follows an agreement for a similar facility at Protos in Cheshire, establishing a carbon capture-enabled network in Encyclis' Midlands cluster.
