Eneco and Volt Urge Dutch Government to Secure Funding for EU AI Gigafactory Bid

The Netherlands risks missing out on a European datacenter for AI chips due to slow government financial commitments. Eneco and Volt, proposing an AI gigafactory with 100,000 chips and 20 petabytes of storage, warn that neighboring countries may take the lead and deplete the EU's €20 billion subsidy fund.

The Dutch Economic Affairs Ministry currently lacks public budget allocation, and decisions are pending from the new cabinet. A commitment is required to participate in the upcoming EU tender for five AI gigafactories.
