Enery Secures Financing for 600 MWh Battery Storage Project in Nova Zagora, Bulgaria
Enery has secured a green financing package from DSK Bank AD for a 600 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Nova Zagora, Bulgaria, marking a significant advancement in the country’s storage financing. The facility will operate at 150 MW capacity for four hours and is scheduled for commissioning in March 2026.
A key feature of the financing is an innovative Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Vitol, ensuring predictable income and revenue stability for the asset. The project includes a substation connected to a new 33/110 kV substation on the transmission grid.
Enery operates a diversified portfolio of 566 MW and is developing nearly 10 GW across Central and Eastern Europe. The Nova Zagora project aims to establish a scalable model for next-generation storage in South-East Europe.
