ESB has unveiled its strategy to transition Ireland's energy system to net zero by 2050, focusing on clean, domestic electricity generation and the electrification of transport, heating, and industry. With a projected publication in 2026, the plan aims to meet over 70% of energy needs through electricity, supported by a €13.6 billion investment in grid capacity and significant renewable energy projects, including over 10GW of new capacity. ESB also highlights the importance of consumer engagement and innovation to address affordability and enhance system resilience.
