EU Commits EUR 650 Million to Cross-Border Energy Projects, Funding Bulgaria's Smart Grids and Hydrogen Infrastructure

The European Commission has committed nearly EUR 650 million to finance 14 cross-border energy infrastructure projects, including EUR 104 million for a smart grids initiative between Bulgaria and Romania. Additionally, over EUR 176 million will enhance hydrogen infrastructure across various countries, with Bulgaria receiving EUR 4.56 million. This funding aims to modernize grid systems, boost renewable energy integration, and improve energy security within the EU.
