The Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority (EWSETA) has received a €2 million investment from the EU to enhance skills development related to South Africa's critical minerals and battery economy. The funding, part of the EU's Global Gateway programme, will support vocational training aligned with employment opportunities in the mining and battery sectors. The initiative is led by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) with EWSETA and industry partners, aiming to create a skilled workforce to meet industrial demands.
