Federal Ministry Funds InnoWaerm Project for 3D-Printed Hydrogen Reactors in Germany

HYDROGEN

The InnoWaerm project, funded with approximately 1.5 million euros by the BMFTR, aims to develop lightweight, high-temperature-resistant hydrogen reactors using additive manufacturing. These reactors, made from titanium aluminide, are intended for mobile applications in aircraft, agricultural machinery, and heavy-duty vehicles. The project, coordinated by Fraunhofer ILT in Aachen, is set to last 24 months, with a focus on validation under real operating conditions to demonstrate industrial-scale manufacturability.
