First Integrated PV Power, Storage, and Hydrogen Project Begins Operation in Kashgar, Xinjiang
The first integrated photovoltaic power generation, storage, and hydrogen refueling project in Kashgar, Xinjiang, has commenced operations. On December 16, the 5MW project in Bachu County was inaugurated with support from the Guangdong Aid-Xinjiang Front Command.
This facility integrates photovoltaic power generation, water electrolysis for hydrogen production, hydrogen storage, and refueling, achieving a closed-loop operation from green electricity to green hydrogen. It aims to transform the energy structure in southern Xinjiang.
The project is part of broader cooperation between Guangdong and Xinjiang, including the 'Kashgar Prefecture Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Plan (2024-2035)'. The facility produces 432 kg of hydrogen daily, expected to reduce carbon emissions by about 222.59 tons annually. This project exemplifies technological advancements and aims to enhance the local green transportation system.
