Fortis Renewable Energy BV and Turkish company Kontrolmatik have commenced construction on the Noćaj 1 solar power plant near Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia, which will feature a 90 MW capacity and a 36 MWh battery energy storage system. This project is part of a larger solar portfolio totaling approximately 270 MW and is expected to be one of the largest solar initiatives in Europe. Fortis is also advancing three wind projects in Serbia, contributing to the country's renewable energy landscape.
