France Opens First Ultra-Fast E-Truck Charger on Mont-Blanc Route

HYDROGEN

France has launched its first ultra-high-power charging station for electric heavy-duty vehicles on the Mont-Blanc route in Vougy, featuring a 560 kW Kempower Mega Satellite CCS charger. Operated by Sowatt Solutions, this is the first deployment of the Kempower Mega Satellite system in France.

The Mont-Blanc corridor serves as a critical link between France and Italy for road freight and faces pollution-related traffic restrictions. The new charging hub aims to support the electrification of long-distance transport, offering charging for international freight operators.

Alongside the truck charger, the site includes three dual-arm Kempower Satellite chargers for passenger vehicles, each with 300 kW capacity. The facility has been developed as a multi-energy station, integrating conventional fuels, hydrogen, and electric charging. The project has received public funding from the France 2030 programme, indicating the importance of state support in enhancing high-capacity charging infrastructure for heavy-duty vehicles.
