The ProBatman project, coordinated by Netzsch-Gerätebau GmbH, aims to optimize the direct recycling of lithium-ion batteries to maximize material recovery. Involving partners like BMW and the University of Würzburg, the project plans to process 340,000 metric tons of used batteries annually by 2040, potentially saving up to 1.3 gigatons of CO2 equivalents.
