HYDROGENDEFENSEFUEL CELL

The French Army is testing the hydrogen-powered Hermione unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) at the Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan Military Academy as part of the Pendragon program, which aims to integrate AI into future military operations with the first AI-directed combat unit expected by 2027. Developed by Polish company P.H.U.

Lechmar and French firm H2X-Defense, the Hermione UGV features a modular design, a payload capacity of 300 kilograms, and operates for up to 20 hours on hydrogen fuel cells. Ongoing trials will evaluate its autonomy, mobility, and energy performance to meet the requirements for the future robotic unit.
