FuelTree Limited Launches to Enhance Clean Energy Access and Carbon Markets in Africa
FuelTree Limited has officially launched to improve access to clean cooking, carbon markets, and green finance in Africa. Established by SMEFUNDS, CSR-in-Action Consulting, and Carbon Credit Network Africa, FuelTree leverages over a decade of experience in sustainability and carbon project development.
Its primary innovation, the Virtual Cylinder Recirculation Model (vCRM), is a digital platform allowing households to access clean cooking liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) while generating verifiable carbon credits. Each household transitioning from firewood or kerosene can avoid 2-3 tonnes of CO₂e emissions annually, contributing to Nigeria's energy transition and carbon market goals. The company aims to reach 100,000 households in its first phase, scaling to 10 million by 2030, while supporting COP30's priorities in energy transition, carbon markets, and food systems.
