Germany and Denmark have formalized an agreement to advance the Bornholm Energy Island project, aimed at enhancing offshore wind energy in the Baltic Sea. This initiative will establish an energy hub capable of distributing up to 3 GW of electricity, featuring connections to both nations' national grids and potential future expansions. Funded with €645 million from the Connecting Europe Facility, the project is classified as a Project of Common Interest under the Energy Highways initiative.
