Getech Secures Contract with GeoKiln for Stimulated Geologic Hydrogen Development in Minnesota
Getech has secured its first contract in stimulated geologic hydrogen with GeoKiln to advance Manufactured Subsurface Hydrogen (MSSH™) technology. The pilot project in Minnesota will utilize Getech's gravity and magnetic data to identify subsurface conditions suitable for hydrogen production.
This contract initiates Getech's new service line in engineered hydrogen, building on its experience in subsurface resource exploration. The project aims to validate GeoKiln's technology and define promising locations for future development, with completion expected by Q1 2026.
MSSH™ could potentially produce clean hydrogen at approximately $1.50/kg, leveraging existing drilling technologies and infrastructure. Interest in stimulated geologic hydrogen is growing, with backing from organizations like Breakthrough Energy Fellows, reinforcing the potential of this clean energy source.
