GivenTech Partners with TKPENN to Provide Solar Power to 200 Ghanaian Schools
GivenTech, a South Korean renewable energy company, has signed a US$3 million agreement to supply solar hybrid power systems to over 200 public schools in Ghana. The partnership with South Africa-based TKPENN Consulting aims to provide reliable electricity to enhance ICT education in regions with unstable power supply.
The five-year deal includes supplying fully assembled systems initially, followed by technology transfer and local assembly to support skills development in Ghana's renewable energy sector. The project aligns with Ghana's goals for sustainable energy and carbon reduction.
Solar systems will be remotely managed using an Energy Management System developed from Korean research, and carbon credits will be managed and traded. GivenTech has previously executed similar projects in Zambia and aims to expand its clean energy operations in Africa from Ghana.
