Global CCS Investment Reaches $6.6 Billion in 2025, 59% Increase from 2024
CARBON CAPTURE
Global investment in carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology is expected to reach $6.6 billion in 2025, marking a 59% increase from $4.1 billion in 2024, though still below the 2023 peak of $13.6 billion. The majority of this investment will come from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, particularly Qatar and Saudi Arabia, while the US has withdrawn significant funding and Canada faces regulatory challenges. India is proposing a $2.2 billion initiative to enhance CCS across major emitting sectors, underscoring the need for stable policy support in the industry.
