Global Tungsten & Powders Secures New Tungsten Suppliers from Korea and Rwanda Amid U.S.-China Trade Restrictions

STRATEGIC MINERALS

Global Tungsten & Powders (GTP) in Pennsylvania is sourcing tungsten from Korea and Rwanda due to U.S. import restrictions on Chinese tungsten. The company, a major tungsten processor, produced over 12,000 metric tons last year.

Record prices exceeding $30 per pound have resulted from trade tensions and military demands. GTP has contracted mined tungsten from Korea's Sandong mine, which has reopened, and from Rwanda's Nyakabingo mine, despite shipping delays due to regional conflicts. The U.S. military's use of tungsten has prompted a push for non-Chinese sources.
