The Mormugao Municipal Council has approved the construction of a 25 TPD compressed biogas plant at Headland-Sada, spearheaded by the Goa Waste Management Corporation with an investment of over Rs 8 crore. The project, which will utilize approximately 3,000 square metres of land, aims to convert organic waste into clean fuel, thereby enhancing sustainable waste management in the region. The initiative is supported by the Goa government through subsidies and aligns with broader efforts to promote biogas and biofuels in the state.
