Google Establishes Data Center in Pine Island, Minnesota with Xcel Energy to Enhance Clean Energy Capacity

Google has announced the establishment of a data center in Pine Island, Minnesota, in collaboration with Xcel Energy. The project will introduce 1,900 megawatts of new clean energy, including 1,400 MW of wind, 200 MW of solar, and 300 MW of iron-air battery storage.
Google will cover all costs related to the electric service and contribute $50 million to Xcel's Capacity*Connect Program. This partnership aims to bolster the local economy while advancing Minnesota's carbon reduction goals through a Clean Energy Accelerator Charge (CEAC).
