Greater Tygerberg Partnership Launches Buy-Back Centre in Cape Town to Address Waste and Unemployment

The Greater Tygerberg Partnership has launched a Buy-Back Centre in Bellville, Cape Town, to combat unemployment and improve waste management. Since its inception in 2019, the center has processed over 113,000 kilograms of recyclables, created 23 jobs, and provided training and stipends for homeless and unemployed individuals. Recognized with multiple awards, the initiative promotes collaboration among communities, governments, and private sectors, integrating informal waste collectors into a circular economy.
