Greece inaugurated the €73.94 million Ampelia Natural Gas Compression Station in Thessaly, a facility aimed at receiving hydrogen-natural gas blends to support the country's energy transition. Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou, highlighted DESFA's role in positioning Greece as a key energy hub in Europe, which will enhance natural gas supply to northeastern and central Europe while reducing reliance on Russian gas.
