Green Mountain and Hima Seafood have launched a joint excess-heat reuse project in Rjukan, Norway, aimed at integrating sustainable data center operations with trout farming. The project utilizes excess heat from Green Mountain's data center to warm Hima Seafood's aquaculture systems, reducing energy consumption and environmental impact.

The system is operational with an initial capacity of 1.75 MW, with plans to scale to 8 MW. The initiative showcases circular economy principles and the collaboration was officiated by the Norwegian Minister of Digitalisation.
