HYDROGEN

Groningen Seaports has been awarded over €4.4 million from the European Just Transition Fund to build a hydrogen pipeline linking the ports of Eemshaven and Delfzijl. The grant, aimed at promoting a Climate Neutral Europe, was presented on November 6.

The construction is part of a broader initiative by HyNetworkServices to establish a national high-pressure hydrogen transport network, critical for the sustainable industrial development in the region. The Kickstart pipeline, developed by the NorthGrid Foundation, will utilize innovative laying techniques for expedited construction and ensure high hydrogen purity. The total investment for the Kickstart pipeline is €15 million, with the JTF supporting the transition to climate neutrality in Northern Netherlands with a commitment of €330 million through 2027.
