Ground Floor Energy Proposes Battery Storage Facility in Greenville, Maine
ENERGY STORAGE
Greenville officials are considering a proposal from Ground Floor Energy to build a battery storage facility at a former steam plant. The project aims to stabilize the local energy grid and is in alignment with Maine's goal of expanding battery storage capacity.
The Northern Border Regional Commission's grant application is a critical next step. Currently, there are seven battery storage facilities in the state with over 230 megawatts of capacity, nearing a target of 400 megawatts by 2030.
