Guinea President Doumbouya Retains Mines Minister in New Government Formation

Guinea President Mamady Doumbouya has retained Bouna Sylla as mines minister in his newly formed government following his recent election victory, marking the end of the transition to civilian rule. Alongside Sylla, Mariama Cire Sylla has been appointed as the new economy, finance, and budget minister, while Ibrahima Sory Tounkara and General Ahmed Mohamed Diallo take on roles as justice minister and minister of security, respectively. Guinea, rich in bauxite and iron ore, is advancing its mining projects, including a major initiative at Simandou.
