The H2GLASS project is testing hydrogen combustion technology in glass manufacturing with five demonstration sites, including one in aluminum. Four European glass manufacturers face challenges such as knowledge gaps in hydrogen management, safety concerns, and the need for IT infrastructure upgrades.

Suggested solutions include enhanced safety measures, modifications to furnaces, and smart production management. Findings aim to facilitate hydrogen deployment in the glass industry and other hard-to-abate sectors.
