Hòa Bình Hydropower Plant Expansion Inaugurated with 480 MW Capacity in Phú Thọ, Vietnam
The expanded Hòa Bình Hydropower Plant was inaugurated in Phú Thọ Province on December 19, as part of nationwide celebrations for the 14th National Party Congress. The expansion includes two generating units with a total capacity of 480 MW and an investment of over VNĐ9.22 trillion.
Once operational, it is projected to add 488-500 million kWh of electricity annually to the national grid. The project enhances operational efficiency by optimizing water resources and reducing the workload on existing units.
Domestic contractor Lilama 10 played a significant role in the expansion, responsible for critical hydro mechanical installations. The timely completion of the project reflects effective coordination among investors, management agencies, and contractors.
